What You’ll Need

Set up this DIY shark game for kids in minutes with simple items:

• Toss toy: bean bag, paper airplane, or rolled-up sock ball
• Tape: to secure spot markers
• 8-10 Household Items: beach chairs, flip flops, towels, or buckets as targets
• Jar or Container: for plastic sharks or shark cards
• Rope or Cardboard: to mark the throwing line

DIY Tip: Tape full pages without cutting, or cut into circles for a polished look. Laminate or use sleeve covers for reusability. Use 8-10 sharks, or 16 for larger groups.

How to Play

1. Set Up: Tape spot markers to household items (e.g. flip flops, towels) in a play area. Place plastic sharks or shark cards in a jar.
2. Take Turns: Kids pick a shark from the jar (without looking), find its matching marker, and toss the toy from behind the line.
3. Rescue Sharks: Hit the target? Read the shark fact aloud and “rescue” the shark to your pile. Miss? Back to the jar!
4. Keep Going: Play until all sharks are saved, cheering wildly!
5. Add Fun: Award extra turns for hits or have kids share a shark fact to win.

Tip: For younger kids, move the throwing line closer for easier play.
